Day 2: Mule trekking, water springs, NamibiaDay 2 starts with breakfast before the mules are loaded. This Namibia hiking trail starts with a gradual hill past quiver trees. You will soon reach the high plateau from which you can enjoy the spectacular scenery over the canyon.
The group will then make their way down a dry river bed. There is a possibility of spotting mountain Zebra, Oryx, Kudu, Klipspringer and Ostrich. This area is also home to the African Fish Eagle and Hamerkop. You will continue along the dry riverbed until it spills into a gorge.
During the afternoon, the group will enter one of the adjoining gorges and follow the river's course. The river is fed by springs. You will spend the night at the one of the springs. You will be able to sleep under the star-studded sky. The distance covered in today's hiking trail in Namibia is about 15 to 20km (9.32 to 12.42 miles). The hike will take about 6 to 7 hours. |
